THE EMPTY CHAIR

This was the chair my sister sat on after she suffered a severe stroke the year beforeshe died. I was inspired by Van Gogh's paintings of his and Gauguin's chair. It is a very special painting to me and a memorial to her. I have used bright colours to brighten up the rather solemn subject of loss.
